Frequently asked questions

Below you'll find the most commonly asked questions we receive. If have a question that isn't covered here, please contact us at info@upsidedowncircus.co.uk and we'll be happy to advise.

How do I find the Up Side Down Circus space?

We are based at Unit 2, Cave Venture Workshops on the Tremorfa Industrial Estate, off Rover Way. You’ll find us just off Martin Road, on the right-hand side, before the turning for Dragon Taxis. For navigation our postcode is CF24 5SD, and our entrance is at ///secure.social.vital.

What can I expect in a class?

Depending on the discipline, you can expect a group warm-up, conditioning exercises, discipline-specific training and a group cool down. Please arrive on time for your class in order to participate in the warm-up.

Do I need to be really fit and flexible to start circus classes?

You do not need to have done previous exercise to start circus.

Is there an age limit? Is it too late for me to start circus?

Classes are currently just for people over the age of 16, but there is no upper age limit. It's never too late to come and give circus a go!

Is there weight restriction?

No. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at info@upsidedowncircus.co.uk.

How much are classes?

You'll find class prices on our classes page; if the discipline you're interested in is not listed, please just ask.

How do I book a class/open training session/private lesson?

Contact us at info@upsidedowncircus.co.uk to book private lessons. Use TeamUp (via the booking page) to book classes and/or open training sessions—please check the colour-coded level on the current timetable to ensure the class/session is right for you.

What level is each class?

Check our current timetable for colour-coded class levels.

What should I wear to class?

Make sure you wear suitable clothing—comfortable and flexible. Most people choose to wear leggings, shorts and a t-shirt. Tracksuit bottoms with a t-shirt—either fitted or one you can tuck in—are ideal. Some people choose to wear a leotard/unitard underneath—this provides extra padding and is ideal. Combat trousers, baggy clothes, shorts/trousers with pockets on the side of the leg are not suitable. Jeans are only to be worn for Chinese pole. Outdoor footwear is not permitted in the training space, and most activities are barefoot. However a clean pair of indoor trainers/dance shoes can be worn inside for some activites.

Do you have car parking?

Yes. We have car parking space directly outside our entrance. During the day please stick to our parking bays as other businesses are operating; in the evenings further parking bays are available.

Is there public transport to the Up Side Down Circus space?

Cardiff Bus routes 1 or 2 stop at nearby Glass Avenue, weekdays until 19:00. We also have a Facebook car share group for members to organise shared travel.

Is there a toilet?

Yes. We have a single unisex toilet.

Do you have clothes changing facilities?

We don't have specific changing space, but there is plenty of room within the toilet cubicle if you are not able to arrive dressed ready for class. Please arrive in time if you need to change.
