Brand new static trapeze class added to our latest timetable

February 21, 2022

Fancy working on your ankle hang, back star, beats, bird’s nest and front balance? Why not sign up for our brand new static trapeze class?

Static trapeze is the latest aerial lesson to be added to our March timetable and will take place every Wednesday evening from 8pm to 9pm.

Sam Smart, an aerial trainer with Up Side Down Circus, said: “Join our static trapeze classes to work on a wide range of hangs, balances, rolls and sequences.”

Last month, our co-founder Chris Moore spent a week working hard on rigging in the training space and added some new points specially for static trapeze.

The sessions will include strength exercises on the trapeze bar, ropes and floor, specifically designed to improve performance on the static trapeze.

Class-goers will learn balances, like front balance, back balance and seat balance. Also on the programme are hangs, including hocks hang, ankle hang and toe hang.

The class will be taught by our guest trainer Nicky Pearson, who performed with Cirque du Soleil and has toured all over the world. She has been teaching at Up Side Down Circus since September, sharing her skills on aerial hoop and silks.

There are several new sessions on the March timetable. We also have a new ground-based open training session from 8pm to 9pm on Tuesdays.

Plus we’ve added some taster sessions at 11am and 12pm on Saturdays, focusing on a different skill each week. These taster sessions are suitable for complete beginners.

If you’re looking for a way to get into circus, you don’t need any previous experience to take part in circus fitness, ground-based open training, Wednesday flying trapeze or mixed circus.
