Come and join the fun at our community Christmas show

December 9, 2021

Sunday, December 19. Get the date in your diary! It’s our community Christmas show and we can’t wait to see you there.

Come and join us for some impressive acts and a festive drink as we celebrate the talents of our amazing community members.

Co-founder Chris Moore said: “We’ve really missed being able to put on shows over the last couple of years and we’re excited to give our community members an opportunity to perform.”

The show will start at 6pm on Sunday, December 19 at Up Side Down Circus in Unit Two of the Cave Venture Workshops on Tremorfa Industrial Estate in Splott, Cardiff.

Community members have already signed up to perform on aerial hoop, Chinese pole, flying trapeze and silks.

Chris added: “Don’t feel like you need to be a pro to get involved! This is a chance to show off what you’ve been learning in class and practice working on a routine.”

Community member Romy Wood performed on aerial hoop at our birthday and Christmas shows in 2018. She said: “I loved performing. I felt as if we were sharing some of the magic. The audience are so supportive and the atmosphere is joyful.”

Aerial trainer Sam Smart added: “The community show is an excellent opportunity to get together with students from other classes and show what you've been working on. There's always a supportive and friendly atmosphere.”

If you’d like to perform, speak to your trainer and email chris@upsidedowncircus.co.uk by Sunday, December 12 with details of your music and which equipment you’d like to use.

Performers will be able to practice in class, as well as in open training sessions on Monday and Friday evenings, plus Saturday mornings. Open training is free if you’re preparing for the show.

There will be a dress rehearsal on the evening of Friday, December 17 to run through with costumes, lighting and music. A videographer will be on hand to film the routines.

On the night, there will be a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Performers get a free drink after the show. Don't forget to bring your NHS Covid pass and photo ID.

Tickets are free, but please email info@upsidedowncircus.co.uk to book so we know how many people to expect.
